Square Stand turns a compatible USB-C iPad into a tidy countertop POS with built-in contactless and chip payments. Its 180-degree swivel lets staff build an order, then hand the screen to the customer for a total, tip, receipt choice, and payment.

For a bakery, coffee shop, pizzeria, or quick-service counter, the included USB hub can support a printer, cash drawer, or scanner when running Square Point of Sale. The mount version also supports wall, countertop, or VESA installation and can run Square Kiosk Lite for self-ordering. Plan for a compatible iPad, power, network access, and a separate magstripe reader if swipe cards are required.
Key capabilities
The Stand's integrated reader accepts contactless and EMV chip cards, plus supported mobile wallets. A Square Reader for magstripe is required separately for swipe cards and gift cards.
The countertop model rotates 180 degrees so customers can confirm the total, add a tip, choose a receipt, and complete payment without a second display.
Use the countertop setup, the included angled or flat wall brackets on the mount model, or a compatible 100 x 100 mm VESA system. A floor stand is sold separately.
With Square Point of Sale, the included hub provides three USB-A ports, while the iPad can connect to supported Bluetooth accessories and network printers. Square lists compatible printers, cash drawers, scanners, and scales by model.
Square Point of Sale can accept eligible tap, dip, or swipe payments while temporarily offline, but the iPad must reconnect within 24 hours to upload transactions. The merchant remains responsible for expired, declined, or disputed offline payments.

Provide a power outlet and Wi-Fi; the iPad supplies the internet connection. Square Point of Sale is the standard software and is free to start, with no monthly POS fee or long-term commitment on Square Free. Square Stand has a one-year limited warranty and does not include a built-in printer.
Square Stand (Mount) can run Square Kiosk Lite on a compatible iPad for customer self-ordering. Kiosk Lite requires Square Plus or Square Premium and costs $50 per active device each month on Plus or $30 per active device each month on Premium after the stated trial. In kiosk mode, Stand cannot directly connect to external accessories over Bluetooth, USB, or Ethernet; kitchen tickets print through a companion POS device, and offline payments are not supported.
The iPad is not included in the $149 hardware price. Swipe payments need the separate Square Reader for magstripe. The countertop setup needs a 13.8-inch (350 mm) circular area to rotate fully. Accessory behavior changes materially in Kiosk Lite mode, and the hardware is approved only for the country for which it was sold; this record covers the U.S. offering.
